Well, yes, there are products out there that people can purchase themselves and use, but our service provides years of experience to back it up plus the latest products and technology.

Movietime has partnered with Pacific Imaging to expand the video conversion services that we offer. Like Movietime, Pacific Imaging is a locally-owned business that has over 20 years of experience providing film- and video-processing services to Western Oregon. This means that in addition to the VHS-to-DVD conversion ser...

One of the things I like best about Buy Local is the networking that goes on. We are all trying to support each other but there's another way we can support all local businesses - educate your staff!

There have been several occasions where the local business owner is pushing the Buy Local (or Shop Local) idea and yet their own staff isn't supporting it. Their employees are still going to corporate-owned businesses over the local owned business! There are valid reasons for choosing one business over an...

We're spreading the word that Movietime Video is now offering VHS to DVD conversions!

Together with our video studio partner M3 Pictures, Movietime Video has been doing DVD conversions for over four years. But with our recent investment in new conversion equipment, we are now able to offer this service at a lower cost and with quicker turnaround time.

If you have VHS tapes that you've been wanting to transfer to DVD, now is the time to do it! A standard conversion without editing is only $20.00 per 2...

At the meeting in March, there was some discussion about organizing an annual Buy Local Day. I think that people still think this is a good idea. This is an easy promotion for us to do. It is simply a matter of getting businesses to promote Buy Local Day at their business and through their own existing marketing tools (enewsletters, mailing lists, etc). Then we all agree to put red, and yellow balloons in front of our businesses and call it good. Folks who want to offer some kind of discount can. We can pas...

The 2nd Annual Art Harvest Tour Benefit is coming!!

It's Thursday, April 30th, in Mattie's Room, at McMenamin's Hotel Oregon. It will run from 5:00 to 10:00 and will include local musicians (I think music starts at 6:00) and a silent auction with pieces donated by the artists.

McMenamin's is donating the room and half of all dinner/drink tabs!!
Last year, this same event was very well-attended, so get there early if you want a table! This is a free event and children are welcome!

Hope to see you...

OK. I have received price info from Chico Bags. We have to order a minimum of 500. The cost to have our logo on it is $3.50 per bag, that is one color silkscreen on the bag and pouch. Total $1750 - not including shipping. If we get 1000, the cost is $3.25 per bag, total $3250. They can add an additional silkscreen color for $.10/bag. We would have to sell the bags retail for around $5.50 - $6.00 to recoup out costs, and perhaps generate a tiny bit of money as seed money for the next promotion.

I don't think "booths" are all that readily available.

It could be discussed at the MDA promotions committee meeting this coming Wed. (4/1) 8:30am At McMenimans. (that's a shameless plug to get more folks coming and involved.)

MDA has been supportive of the BuyLocal movement, so perhaps....

Hi all. I have more bag notes at the store, but here is a brief recap. We looked into getting bags made with the BuyLocal Logo on them. We dismissed the idea of putting everyone's logo on it because it is just too "busy" on the bag. Especially once we saw the Halloween bag from the MDA (which, I am curious, has anyone seen those around town being used? I haven't).

Have bags printed is expensive. To get any kind of price break, one has to order lots (read:5000+). We looked into the folding bags that were ...
